Hello! My name is Lisa Sizer and I am the School Counselor at King-Robinson Inter-District Magnet School. I began working at King-Robinson in September of 2015 and am enjoying working with the students and staff. I graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with my Masters in School Counseling in May of 2015. I also hold a BA in Psychology from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Our School Counseling Program offers comprehensive developmental guidance lessons for children in grades K-6. Developmental guidance lessons focus on social-emotional learning that is age-appropriate for all students. Students in 6th-8th grade will all work with our Naviance program throughout the year. Naviance is designed to help students explore careers, create personal/social and academic goals, and look at colleges. Your student will become familiar through a variety of lessons done throughout the year on Naviance. This program will also be utilized in high school and your students information will follow him/her throughout their academic career. Our 8th graders have a big decision ahead of them this year as they begin to explore area high schools and find the right fit for themselves. I will have different schools visit King-Robinson to talk to our students and answer questions. In addition I will offer a classroom lesson on area high schools, meet with each 8th grader regarding high school choices, and call home to discuss high school options. In addition, I also offer individual and group counseling. Group sessions are typically in 6-8 week rotations and focus on a variety of student success skills necessary for our students. Students can be recommended to group by anyone in the building and at a parents request. Individual sessions vary and I’d be happy to speak with families about this on an individual basis. I look forward to getting to know everyone at King-Robinson. Please do not hesitate to contact me at 475-691-2739 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
